Accessible Technology Services (ATS), part of IT Central, and UMOnline have need for an updated and more efficient workflow for receiving and processing requests for third party integrated tools into the learning management system (LMS) at the University of Montana. Our current LMS, Moodle, has the ability to integrate external tools (often called LTIs) to enhance the teaching and learning experience of our users, who include faculty, students, and staff. However, this integration involves collaboration between several client services at ATS and UMOnline, the person making the request (usually a faculty member), and third party vendors. Our current process is not as efficient as we would like and has bottlenecks, communication gaps, and sometimes confusion for the parties involved. We would like assistance in coming up with a process that uses the tools we currently have available to improve the process so requests follow a consistent and efficient workflow and, hopefully, decrease the time needed from request to implementation.
